Kind of like a Prima-Donna calling on a show and later cancelling it. That's alright, we walked on enough white carpets during the last few months, we can handle a few more. I am drawing the line at April. I do have a temper, Mr. Winter. I'll send you my xoxo two seasons later when I roll out the red carpet for you. Right now, I want my Spring. And I've got a new fragrance to go with her. ( and a few other things.)

Prada Milano Infusion Eau De Parfum

I bought this EDP last year in early May. Unfortunately I had ten other fragrances already in use, and decided to save this one for next year. My Lady Jessica also have one and she described the scent as " fresh like baby powder". I thought it was a clean, refreshing and crisp scent very suitable with floral one pieces, a cardigan, pearl necklaces and a cotton tote bag while having picnic in the park. Definitely Spring.

Miss Dior Cherie Eau De Parfum

I finally decided to skip Chanel No.5 EDT and bought this one instead when I was in Vienna. I tried this scent on for more than 100 times before making my decision. It is a sweet floral scent with a top note of peach and apricot, which is a new try of scent for me. ( I tend to fall for amber, oriental scents.) There's no time to be sweet like the spring.

Clinique Even Better Skin Tone Corrector

Just really trying to get ready for the summer season when I aboslutely do not like to wear makeup due to the constant heat and sunray that would melt my makeup anyways. This product is easy to absorb and has proven to work withint 4 weeks. It gets rid of the dark spots, yellowish tone, and acne scars fast and without irratition. As I said, the best way to get rid of imperfection is to prepare against it. Why not start the process in the Spring when sunlight is still soft? We're not getting any younger, right?

Lucky Magazine

Start of season, change of woredrobe. Time to update with new ideas and fashion trends with the newest fashion mag. The april issue covered quite a lot of ideas and topics. There's also Allure, Elle, Bazaar, Seventeen,. . . .You don't need them all, but you will need one at least to point you at the right direction.

And why not start a new novel???? I got my hands full of Stephene Meyer all I can see in Spring is ~ no, not vampires. Something pink and has four letters. Crossing my fingers to my lovelys for finding their Edward. xoxo~

I Tried and I Approve: Spring Beauty Products

These might not be new products, but I certainly did fall in love with them for specific reasons. Just to remind you lovelys that I have this terribly reactive skin that had put me through hell and back: Combination/Sensitve/Allergeric/Acne Prone. I have used these products without screaming in agony, I believe that must say something about these items. Try asking for a sample of these products at the beauty counters before committing to buying the full 200ml package.

1. Clarins One Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser:

With orange extract, suitable for all skin types. I adore the fresh citrus fragrance, which wakes up my senses in the morning. The micro exfoliating beads are actually quite soft to the touch. My skin was smooth and clean after one use. I would suggest subsituting this into your routine a few times in the week to help clean away the chopped peeling skin that has been piling up from the winter season.

2. Clarins Bright Plus HP Repairing Brightening Night Cream:

Although it says it is in a cream formula, I find this rather light, refreshing and nurishing to use. It moisturizes very well, and also helps to brighten your skin tone. I saw the difference in about one week. It definitely works.

3. Lancome Primordiale Eye Skin Recharge:

The formula is light yet nurishing enough. Great to use as under eye makeup base because it smoothes out the dry fine lines around the area yet it is not sticky.

4. Lancome High Resolution with Collaser-48:

It is a deep collagen anti wrinkle serum that I use it as a quick fix rather than a serum. The best way to prevent aging is to defend against aging before it even starts. However, becoming dependent on anti wrinkle products is not the best idea because they are expensive and it will hinder your skin's natural anti-aging abilities. I use this during days when I feel that I haven't been taking care of my skin well enough. My all time favorite anti-aging regiment is Vitamin C and Vitamin E: oranges and green tea. Yes, simple, but highly effective.

5. M.A.C Mineralize Skin Finish Natural Powder:

I switched to this makeup product and I get to sleep in for at least 10 more mins. Enough time to finish my sweet dreams. First, conceal the under eye circles and other imprefections. Then take the mineral makeup brush, swipe some mineral powder, dusk it a little, and swirl onto your face in light circular motions. Start from the outside of the face and swirl inward. To set the makeup, I like to use a press powder sponge and press onto the face lightly. The makeup should last throughout the day. If facial oil appears, use a oil absorbing sheet and press onto the shiny oily areas LIGHTLY. Reapply press powder of your choice.

Try to simplify your skin care routine during spring because you will need a few more things added to your summer skin care steps due to the fact that you might want to treat possible skin burns and moisturize your skin better, which lost of moisture from the skin may result from being in contact with too much sunlight. Sunscreen is NOT a form of moisturizer. It goes ON TOP of your moisturizer UNLESS if you use a moisturizer WITH sunscreen. Wait. . summer's not here yet. . .right. . .

Fast Forward to Summer

I do feel that the winter has been lingering around a little bit too long. There is almost no more guilt left within, nor do I need a reason to justify my wish for "her" departure. It seems that half of my wish was granted to me as the sun broke through the clouds and smiled at me. Now all I need is for the sun to NOT set until 10pm and a cup of coconut vanilla mango ice cream while I sit by the seashore enjoying the summer breeze. Too early for day dreaming? Apparently, but I can't help it.

Oh yes. . .there should be spring before summer. . .my apologies Lady Spring, with love~

My top 5 Spring activities:

1. Nothing beats having a picnic sitting by a circle of Cherry Blossom trees with your lord and lady friends. Sandwiches, cookies, juices and cakes. Lovely. Tiara? Sure! It is the best season to be what you dream to be. Just, make sure it goes with your dress.

2. Drive to a local resort and have a day spa experience. I always love Harrison Hot Spring, just 2 hrs drive east of Vancouver. After the spa, do visit the local chocolate factory and maybe the bee farm. Be sure to buy some of the fresh honey while you are there. I espcially like the rose flavoured honey. It is NOT rose infused, the bees picked pollens FROM the actual rose. Try some with your coffee or tea. It is spring afterall, try something new.

3. Although it might still be too cold to take a walk by the beach, but I assure you, the beach have a different feeling in every season. In spring, the wind is softer, the air less salty, the sidewalk has less people... you will have the beach to yourself. Bring you pet friend or a book along. There is no time to relax like a time like this.

4. A road trip. Anywhere. Best though if the flowers are starting to blossom. Get your Hermes scarf and Chanel sunglasses ready. Be sure to bring a few relaxing albums to play while you enjoy the scenery.

5. Have a coffee with a friend by the neibourhood cafe. Time to catch up on what's going on around your world before everyone is too busy with the endless daylight in the summer. If you do baking, why not bake them a batch of cookies? Could be better than the cookies from the cafe, who knows^^

Just, try to kick the habit of sleeping in late my love.~xoxo~~

Fashion Review for Spring/Summer 2009

Making a fashion statement has never been easy, and it certainly gets harder during this difficult recession period. Although there is always the "refund with receipt and tag on" policy that every fashionista counts on for their pennies, having a sense of what's on trend would come in handy when 100 things are on sale and you need to decide what to pick. So, here's my 10 recommandations to make it easier: ( with a hint of my personality ^^)

1. Since the recession is already putting the grey in the air, try something in the brighter yet pastel shade colors. Think romantic evening sitting outside the deck with a table by the ocean and white wine.

Pants: slouchy, harem style pants are in. Great with neutral colors. Avoid grey, save it for office suits.

Tops: less structure, more free flowing. Soft fabrics.

Skirts: A line with a belt.

Shoes: Gladiator sandals and open toe heels are still in. I especially adore gladiator sandals. They match everything. EVERYTHNG.

2. Break out of the box and try something adventurious. Even though you might not be going on any Indiana Jones adventure, but the new Ralph Lauren Out of Africa Collection really brightens the spirit. To make each day count, make everyday an adventure.

3. My fave top fashion house: Hermes ~ the scarf patterns really catches the eye. Check their website, and remember their patterns, and visit some local second hand consignment boutiques and cross your fingers that you will find something similar. Usually you will if you look hard enough.

4. Check your mom's jewelery boxes ( with permission) and borrow her charms, brouches and goldwears instead of buying your own. ( for now) Just remember to polish them up before use. Think statement pieces. Big statement pieces. VERY BIG ones. period.

5. Pink is the new red in terms of lipstick color. Lancome is already ahead of the crowd. The La Laque Fever line is captivating beauties everywhere.

6. As for makeup, less is more. Nude looks are still very much in the trend. Mineral makeup is getting more and more popular. So put one and one together and get the : mineral nude makeup look. Visit a MAC shop or actually, the Lancome counter for a quick makeup tip session.

7. The messy hair do is THE do of the season. I am always in favor of a natural under done hair do. There is something very sexy and mystic about the "messy just out of bed" hair. Put it together with the romantic pastel fashion and you've got a new style out of the mix and match genre. For long hair, use a 1" curling iron and just randomly curl sections, spray on some hair gel, run your fingers through them, flip over your hair, and and spray some more on to hold the style somewhat. Let the natural wind do the final decision of how your hair should turn out to be. For short hair, spray the hair gel spray onto your fingers and just run them through your hair, giving it a more definite shape but not fixed, allowing them to free-flow in the natural wind or when you fling your hair. Awwww how sexy.

8. There is no time like the recession period to really seriously buy a DESIGNER bag. An obvious one as well. Louis Vuitton or Chanel is a good choice none other than the fact that their items are timeless. Think of it as an investment. A bag at $2000.00 divided into at least 40 years. The earlier you invest, the more you get out of the bargain.

9. This is also a good time to invest in a decent top line waist watch. Rolex? Sure, if the price is good. Pearl surface with scattered diamonds would go a long way. Just decide on silver or gold. Or get both.

10. Coat hangers. Yes. Not even joking. Get the good supporting ones with the shoulder pads which will not only save your garment from wedging, it has always been THE WAY your garments are suppose to be: stored away properly. Stop laying them on the floor and letting your fluffy pet friend(s) stepping all over them.

The Enneagram Test

So according to this school of thought, people are generally divided into 9 different types of personalities. Each one specific type has a different set of mind sets and reasoning methods that led to their specific behaviors. I tried a free online test and I am categorized into Type 1, 6 and 9. Twice. So I guess you do get it in a combo sometimes. Afterall, you cannot really describe a person in one word, apparently not in one single type of personality as well.

http://www.enneagraminstitute.com/dis_sample_36.asp?discover

Have fun my lovelys^^

Saturday Luncheon

Another lovely saturday, another lovely morning to wake up early so I can get ready properly for the usual lovely Tea Lunch, aka dim sum and tea with my family. This is known as THE lunch where EVERYONE cannot get enough of the latest gossips surrounding EVERYONE at the table. A usual one hour lunch can go into double time easily if anyone happened to have gone on a trip, aka, me. Anywayz, that's not the point of this blog. The point is, how to dress up for family luncheons. Think sweet, innocent, and lovely.

Do's:
1. Always take a shower to freshen up.

2.Wash your hair, towel dry, put abit of mousse and work into the damp hair, and style them into neat tidy looking locks. Spray on some hair gel to hold them in place. If possible, some hair shine spray would help as well.

3. Neutral color one piece dresses always carry a clean and innocent image. If you want patterns, pick the floral ones. Stay FAR AWAY from animal and geometric prints. Leave them for the NIGHT when you go out with your FRIENDS. Find a matching cardigan to go with the dress. If you want to add some accessories, a belt and a hat would do the trick. Try the London style little miss sunshine round hats for a change of scenery. Boots or flats with high rise black socks, no high heels, unless you are attending the Four Season Hotel High Tea after the lunch.

4. Pick a floral scent, something like Anna Sui Dolly Girl or Gucci Envy me with a twist of spice and vanilla. Remember, the other ladies at the table might have other heavier scents on. Have pity for the gents and just keep it light, two spray of it would do. Keep a sample size one in your purse if you need to go to another gathering later. Remember: reapply in the ladies room, not in front of everyone. Fragrances are suppose to be an open secret: everyone knows you have it on, but they don't know WHAT you have on, so don't break that mystery around your scent. ( unless another lady dare to ask, then you may share your greatest secret weapon if you feel like it.)

Don't:

1. Do not wear a black bra under a white shirt, or a white bra under a black shirt. You know the rules, this is bedroom stuff with your intimate significant other, not to be shared with the world and certainly NOT your family members.

2. Try to keep your behavior items out of sight EVEN when it is in your purse. Cigarrettes, lighters, poker decks, little bottles of volka. . . keep them in a small bag within your purse, or leave them in the car.

3. Do not bring your bags of shopping items with you to the lunch table because 1) waste of another chair to put your items, 2) a show off and 3) EVERYONE will want you to show them what you've got. So try to put them into the car first or if you absolutely have to, put all the bags into one big bag so it won't look THAT obvious you have commited a shopping spree. . .well, I forgive you.

4. Do not eat before everyone else. In some families there are prayers to be made. For those who are the plus ones going to another friend or your significant other's first family lunch/dinner/gathering, WATCH!!!! When the parents of the person invited you starts to eat, then you may eat. Usually in casual gatherings it is not that strict, but once again if your image is at stike or if your future demands on it ( say. . .love?), hold that hunger and FOCUS my lovelys.

Have fun luncheon, xoxo ~

Exchange Fashion @ Fashion Exchange

Ten years ago when I started shopping at thift shops and second hand boutiques, my friends laughed at me for being cheap. Ten years later when my friends ask me where I bought my stuff, it's the same thift shops I told them ten years ago and they exchanged in loads of compliment instead of words of critizism. What's the lesson learned here? Let's apply a famous quote from THE Coco Chanel her highness:

"Fashion fades, only style remains the same." Coco Chanel.

I suppose I'm just staying true to my own style. Thank you Ms. Chanel I love you forever xoxo.

A few local Second Hand Consignment Shops that I would suggest my lovely fashionistas to trade your garments at:

1. C'est La Vie Consignment Boutique
3247 Main Street ( around the corner of main street and 16th/17th ave)
604-876-2284
I have been going there for 3 years now, the owner is a lovely fashionista who's keen sense of style is responsible for the romantic french atmosphere that her store is well known for. Not to mention her unique picks of clothes. Here's the tip for going to C'est La Vie: pick out the clothes that you don't need, pick the ones that are in season, take pictures for each garment, wash them out, iron them, pack them neatly into a shopping bag, drop it off at the boutique, and leave your name and phone number. The owner will go through your items and takes the stuff that she thinks will sell and will return the stuff that she doesn't need back to you. Btw, they split 50/50. Pretty decent, I would say.

2. Le Balle Consignment
Forgot the address, but it's on 41st ave in the Kerrisdale area, by Balsam street.
778-737-0371

Also 50/50, they have more of the elegant English/European style, the more classy taste as well as more designer outfits.

3. Front & Company
3771 Main Street
604-879-8431

Gotta LOVE this shop. It was unfortunately burnt down last year in the summer, and for close to half a year, I was driving up and down main street checking on the progress of the rebuilding of this shop. It has both consignment items as well as boutique fashion items. It also has a second shop next to the clothing store which sells stationaries and other cute/elegant little things that I adore very much. Not to mention it is on one of my fave hang out street in Vancouver. Love love love.

4. Mintage
http://www.mintagevintage.com/

Check out the website and you will know what i'm talking about. The glamour is within.

As with all "come back" moments from any trip, I'm just having a really hard time trying to adjust to the Vancouver west coast life style. For the first time in life I do feel that the world is my own backyard. . . I really can go anywhere I want. Although I will always call Vancouver my home, but I begin to feel how much I do not know about other places that I've never been to, and hopefully, I can make it to most of the wonders of the world.

And to all my friends all over the world. .. Sorry 604, but I have to say that the sudden snow helped me to ease my empty heart bit by bit. . . 12 days of no phone calls. . .it's like. . heaven. . .

And also there's the new H&M Magazines and SJP for cover "BAZAAR" mag to cheer me up while listening to One Arm Bear's "Blurred" album. At the worse, I will just put on the "Sex and the City" movie 24/7 to get myself out of the "post-vacation" syndrome. Knocking on wood.

PS:

Uncle Carl. . . . The excitment and freedom was so overwelming that not even the complicated connection flight plans would have dampen my spirit. I literally had to order a coke and a steak breakfast at the EST restaurant @ Terminal 2 of the Heathrow Airport to celebrate everything in life. Everything. Well, actually, my silent prayer started off with " Thank you for sending me through the Atlantic in one piece." By the way, the EST restaurant is actually pretty good. It's on the upper floor at the terminal 2. It's sort of like Denny's, except it's fancier. If western big dish food is not your thing, there's a Fish Bar at the lower level that serves smoked salmon, fresh oysters and wine. Yes, at the airport.

It is however pretty devastising that I am not allowed to purchase any liquid products at the duty free shops due to that color alert code of rules of safety. I had my eyes on several fragrances including the new Marc Jacobs Daisy Limited Edition. Better yet, the Miss Cherie fragrance that is only 57 Euro for 50ml EDP, or the Dune Midnight EDP 50ml for 47 Euro. Perfumes. . .the only one thing I just cannot resist. It is more alluring than a diamond ring, more affecting to the senses within the 5m radius, and more magical than anything anyone can put on because just like magic, it's invisible. Not your though, if you had perfume on. Definitely not and I swear by Channel No. 5 to do the ultimate magic. I'm sure all the divas from the past, present and future would agree.

One thing none of the divas from the past, present and future would agree with will have to be that hailarious rule of taking off shoes at the security check in. It is, unfortunately, still in effect. How brutal, don't you agree my lovelys??

xoxo, Kaila, from Semmering, Austria.

Stay in Grace

Typically I am not a rushing person. However, I do have some bad time management moments and today is one of those. When looking back at it now ( 9:00pm, sitting in my cozy den with my self made Starbucks coffee and creme bulee from Meinhardt, calmed and back to my own self) it was quite intense.

I have one thing to do today, and it was to go to downtown Vancouver and do a foreign exchange transaction. After observing the currency for a week, today is THE day to get the best rate. Yes, I do pay attention to the international fianical market. And no, I do not depend on it to survive but being a fashionista I like to be in the know of everything. EVERYTHING. Imagine having nothing to talk about at a cocktail gala. How cold.

The insituition closes at 5, and I left my loft at 3:30 thinking I would make it in time easily but boy was I wrong. It usually takes 3o mins to get to downtown for my area which wasn't too difficult. Today, however, I got JAM STUCK two blocks away from my destination for 20 mins due to road works. Alot of road works. While I silently express my anger in my own head, I still had to find a decent parking lot. Not spot, a lot. Getting a parking spot at 4pm in downtown is almost as crazy as winning the lottery. And out of all the lots I had to pick the one that I had never been into. Struggling to find my way out of the lot, I had no choice but to speed walk through Holt Renfrew. I apologize here to all the HR staffs for not paying attention to their beautifully decorated halls, nor their ever so automatic greetings. Getting the highest exchange rate would have to come before checking out all of the reduced price designer bags. ( I know. . how could I? but I did, so I guess I was rushed to the max.)

In the end I made it with 10 mins to spare.

And was once again stuck in downtown due to rush hour traffics.

So I thought: " . . . ain't getting myself stuck in no traffic girl." and ended up having a very cozy dinner with myself and the game. The hockey game. Washionton 5, New Jersey 2. Like I said, I like to be in the know. Otherwise what should I talk about while having a honey lager with the gentlemen ^^?

Afterall, A Girl's Gotta Eat^^

No I didn't gave into my inner demons nor have I gone insane. You will also save $$ since you will need to go greocery shopping on a fixed budget, not to mention packing your own lunch and skipping the gossip lunch hour. Some extra peace and quiet to enjoy your homemade gourmet soup/fruit/sugar free blue mountain coffee. Afterall, a girl's gotta eat. ( and an excuse to shop for your own lunch box, not the one you have been using since 8th grade from Mom.)

<category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='C.Y. It is one thing to travel and another to retrieve my long lost sanity. As it turns out, it was not any other "travel" travel, it was an "star trek' worthy travel: I went back in time, 150 years ago, and watched The Hudson Bay Company of Britian made their first trade.

Destination: Fort Langley

Gas: $10.00

Royal Albert Sugar and Creamer Set: $40.00

Coffee: $1.50

Euphoria Chocolate box of 6: $8.25

Admission: $7.00

Cleansing the soul: Priceless

"AMBROSIA" : Your love will be reciprocated

After months of "words cannot even begin to describe" intense preparation, my band LOCUS' full length album has finally arrived accompanied by screams of "OMG", "YAY" and more "OMG". Rather, take this chance of being snowed in and spend sometime fixing up yourself some quality time with yourself. Get your wine and cheese ready for a cozy day in.

1. A facial: You have the whole day to take your time on the exfoliater, the deep cleansing mask and the whitening/moisturizing mask that follows it. During your waiting time, make youself a hot green tea and some nice oakmeal bars as snacks.

2. Turn on the tap and soak into a fragrance-filled bubble bath followed by a hot shower. Just like what you would exfoliate your face, why not take the time and exfoliate your body as well? I am still very shocked to learn how many ladies miss out on the benefit of exfoliating. When you are done, moisturize with some fragrance body lotion. Who said you cannot put on fragrance when you are staying in?

3. Some thing with body exfoliation, I am also shocked by the fact that alot of ladies never wash their makeup brushes and sponges. The makeup residue, dirt, and other bacteria would stick onto these beauty tools. They will cause bad breakouts and uncomfortable irrtations in the long run. M.A.C carries a good quality brush cleanser that I am very fond of. Do this once every two weeks and your brushes will last longer. Not to mention you will feel better when you put on your makeup knowing your brushes are C.L.E.A.N.

4. Now that you have got yourself taken care of, how about the extent of yourself meaning your loft?? Spend sometime, clean up the coffee tables, throw out old newspapers ( not the magazines though, they are books of art.), re-organize your waredrobe, and while you are at it, pick out some old pieces that you do not wear anymore and send them to the charity organziation. Remember, beauty also comes from within, give your inner beauty a makeover while you give your outer beauty the whole nine yards.

Something Priceless

When everyone was entangled in frustration trying to decide how to end year 2008 with a blast, I ended mine on the 30th ( I like to be at the very front of the trend.) doing something that's totally not on the list:

1. Lunch with a good friend, Zi, and a new friend, Patrick, @ the elegant Milestone's on Brunette Hwy. Special medal of honor to Zi, who droved his front wheel drive manual automobile, in the snow, and on the ice, on a tuesday, all the way from the west side to the suburb for a 1pm luncheon. Friendship? Definitely priceless.

2. Followed by attending an art gallery exhibit @ Autumn Book Gallery on W.4th, Vancouver, supporting an artist friend, the very lovely and talented Ms. Michelle of artatsnow, whom had pieces showcased, and SOLD within the first 10 minutes since the event started. Congrats to the now new proud owner of what should have been priceless: the invisible force of talent of an art guru expressed on a visible medium.

3. Put the cherry on top with a quiet dinner with my dear princess sister Jessica @ The Earls on W. Boardway. She has also given me a surprise christmas (post christmas actually) gift: a beautiful coat designed by Jessy the Queen B of fashion herself. It's so one of a kind, so elegant, it is still hanging on the front door of my closet. It is priceless.

And at the end of the day, I was still bounded to the tradition of the last moments of an old year: looking back at what I had done and haven't done. I had done less than what I should have, and I haven't done more to make myself doing less of doing less. All in all, I had put my new year resolution into three simple goals:

1. Now that we have remastered and almost going to print the second LOCUS album, let's get the third album done and DONE this year. Seriously. Life's too short. (Jason and Kelvin are you reading this ^^?)

2. Buy that John Variato "Vintage" fragrance. Unless I magically receive one from my fairygodmother.

3. Spend more time going to lunch than dinner. I am more awake during lunch time becausee I do not drink wine with my pastas at 1pm in the afternoon.

Some Love Are Meant to Be Forever

And I saw it with my own two eyes. For close to two and a half years, I watched this love grow stronger and stronger. I felt the happiness, the pain, the bittersweetness, and the final tears in celebration of the most heart moving happy ending I can ever imagine to have the honor to witness. Some love are meant to be forever. I will always remember the vows of everlasting love and respect that was being exchanged at the ceremony, and may this also be the day where my waterproof mascara failed miseribly. So winter has arrived once again. Looking back at my last winter, I realize, there are thngs that I have lost, and there are things that I have been rewarded with. Some would say that life isn't fair. Maybe. . . . . .Maybe it does seems cruel on the surface, but only deep down in the truth will you be able to find the treaure hidden within. Only when you have reached the bottom will you be able to cast away all fear of sinking any lower. Only when your heart has been broken once will you be able to be brave and let it be broken again. Only when you have lost everything will you be able to appreciate everything you have.

And when your sky fall, you will learn who truly cares for you, and will be there with you until the end.

I found mine, I hope you won't need the testiment of a falling sky to find yours. Why? Well, here's why.

When you go out for a party, there will always be an after party. And the chances are the after party will be a house party. Thus, all footwears stay at the lobby of the mansion and you will have to justify your fashion sense with your socks. So, try to match your socks to your outfits if you want to be on the save side. Black is always a lovely color. A bolder statement can be made with bold colors such as neon yellow, hot pink, shimmering red and etc. Never go with white socks since all the dust on the floor as well as the wearing away of the color of the insole of your shoes will be easily shown on white, unless if you are attending a school uniform theme party.

Ladies, even though you will be layering your outfits, but it will save you two layers of unnecessary garments at least (and the appearance of being 5 pounds heavier) if you wear a thermal under garment. I wear a short sleeve one under my empire waist party dress just to be safe if I found myself at a "not yet warm up" party in the empty ballroom. To your surprises, Zellers and Wal-mart carry good enough quality thermal under garments at the price range of $10 to $20 CAN.

Finally, don't forget your personality at home and splitz on some fragrance before you leave. Human basic senses, such as taste and smell, register a more intense memory then the secondary senses such as languages and body guestures. I'm sure that perfect outfit and lovely party etiquette are enough to make you the centre of attention at the events, but more attraction never hurts. Have fun vouging lovelys.

Christmas is a giving season

The act of giving can be very tough for most people this year for the Christmas season. However, for those that still have access to the internet and able to pay for basic cable, consider those that do not have a home with a roof on top. Therefore, besides all the galas, parties, after party parties and more galas, think about something that you can do to help those in your community in ways that you can. And here is a list of things that I believe EVERYONE can do to make it a merrier holiday for all:

1. Vow to drop in 25 cents or more into the Salvation Army bright red buckets everytime you see one. Maybe it will cost you a coffee a day, but so what? Some cannot even afford clean water.

2. Donate non-perishable food item for a local food bank. Some holiday season parties and galas would also have food drives. I know that Campbell doesn't fit into your Chanel, but when everyone is doing it, you will look foolish without one.

3. Simply donate money to the charity of your choice. At this point ( with the rollor coaster economy ride), any amount counts. Think about how many different colors of nail polish you already own, and think about how many meals your $ 5 to $ 10 can help others get through. Meanwhile, pack your left overs when you go out for meals. Think Karma.

4. Give your 5 inch pumps a rest and put on some runners and jeans to be a volunteer for a day or two, or a period of time during the season. Helping out your community directly is one of the best ways there is to be connected with those around you, and to see the bigger picture of how your help can make a difference. There is nothing in the world more rewarding for your sweats and maybe tears, then to see a smile on someone else's face. One advice: waterproof mascara.

5. Pray. I will not get into the religious discussion, it is up to you to decide if this applies to you. Pray for your loved ones, for your friends and families, for those who are in need. I know it is a one sided text message, but it won't cause you a dime, and no restrictions applied.

December: Grace, Joy, and Love.

As fast as time flies, Decemeber has offically arrived with a red ribbon on top. Gift giving has always been a difficult puzzle to solve by many. For It is an even harder question if she needs to buy for a special someone. So, to make things easier, ( so you can spare more time picking up great gifts for yourself, or just simply have more time to put together your oscar outfits to parties), here is a list of ideas pre-prepared for my lovely fair ladies.

Do Buy:

1. Ties: It is called the classic gift because it IS classic and you can never go wrong with anything classic ( think the little black dress for girls). It would work for your brother, your father, your admiring someone, or anyone that you think you want to show an extra something during the holiday season. Just like ladies to shoes, men never have enough tie in their closets. But be sure to pick something "VOGUE". Ask a sales representative.

2. Socks: If he is a good friend, but not your boyfriend (or not yet), a set of three CK or Hugo Boss socks in black or blue would make that right statement.

3. Belts: This would be the one notch up version from the "Tie" gift. Any second line label brand would do.

4. Wallet: Don't attempt unless this is your boyfriend, father, or father in law. Wallet is something that truly shows the class and statement of men, so please go for the first line labels. Preferrably European labels. And MAKE SURE IT'S LEATHER!

5. Perfume: This would depend on how close you are with your male friend and how much you know him. Preferrably for a male close friend who is in the show biz, in the fashion biz, or a living breathing fashionlista. This would be a great choice for your significant other as well. Don't blind pick a perfume. Take the effort to smell it out, if you don't mind, sample it on a ribbon and see how the scent changes, make sure that you would like it yourself first because no men would like a scent that a lady doesn't like.

Don't buy:

1. Accessories: Unless you know which one to get. Or else it will be in the bottom of the drawer forever and ever. Ever.

2. Clothes: Unless you know their exact size. If you still want to attempt, tie him up and take him to the clothing store to try on the exact outfit you want on him. What? breaking your nails?? Exactly.

3. Shoes: There is a legend that buying shoes for a special someone would mean sending that person out of your life, to "walk away". Don't risk it if your love depends on it.

4. Wine: A big NO for fair ladies. Sending the wrong idea. Very wrong. Yes though if you mean it.

5. Electronic Gadgets: Note to ladies, he might already have it. Double check before you do if you really want to. I have a hinch that iphone, ipod, PSP, blah blah blah. . . . he would already own one of each. Wii?? . . .Double check with his sister.

With love to all my lovely fashionistas~~~~ xoxo~~~~happy holiday~~~~

John the Valet

On a perfectly sunny Saturday afternoon, I am actually not on Robson nor W.4th browsing my fave stores, but in a back alley by Granville Street trying to find a meter that don't just take plastic. ( what have this world came to?)

So John, a 5'11 about 160 pounds t-shirt and jeans with the most worn out sneakers I've ever seen, emerged by my door and pointed me to a meter that would take coins. And then he did the most amazing thing that I've never seen done by any other citizens of this free country: he picked up a fallen wood log and a couple of garbage pieces on the ground and threw them into the dumpster.

And THEN he told me his name. Sorry. But I'm used to putting my namedropping in the beginning of the conversation.

And John also told me that the surrounding parking lots are actually his home. . his backyard. . his dinning room. . his territory to keep clean for.

For a minute, I can't help but to look into his eyes and his faint little smile, to understand the larger meanings behind his simple words.

. . .But I was in such a rush, I couldn't really catch the glimpse of the noble destiny of John's life, nor the fact that he is not getting a new pair of sneaker.

So when I came out to get my car, I gave him something that I hope it would mean something. What is it? No it's not money. And it's not s spare pair of sneaker. But it is something Christmas-sy and I don't need it.

Next time. Next time I drop by, I will get John the valet something that would last, so he can keep on protecting our neighbourhood from excess fallen logs and after party garbages on the road.

A Party and A Lesson

Last Saturday was the very VIP-ed Vancouver Asian Film Festival Industry Party Bash at The Stadium Club at Edgewater Casino in Downtown Vancouver. We were invited by Ms. Alisa Choy, the CEO of QuotendQuote Cross Cultural Publicity Company, who showed up with a drop dead georgious modified chinese traditional dress with shimmering gold 5 inches heels.

As with all parties, most guests know the "party doesn't start after 11pm" rule, except for a few, which are the crews, directors and actors that had the word " be on time" stetched across their forehead. I don't exactly dare to put myself into any of the very respectful positions on the above, but being on time for anything "industry" has became an innate reflex from the long years of watching models being rejected just because they arrived 2.5 mins late.

So while my Style Guru Gigi and Mati of the drummer of local Vancouver band "One Arm Bear" and I were sitting quite cozy drinking our times away, a few familiar looking faces came around our table and actually started the party. As it turns out, they were actually actors that I have worked with before and one in particular, said something so amazing, that I remembered every single word:

" Just let it be. Sadness, Happiness, it comes and goes. Peace is the ultimate longing for all because the world is in a constant chaos. Let your thoughts flow so you can move on. Give peace, give freedom, unchain your mind, unchain yourself."

Vincent, the once Citi Bank banking Manager, a sometime choir vocal, and now a 60 plus years old stunningly attractive, very wise, appropiately confident, and morales filled actor, I'm glad that I have met you. This quote is now hammered on the wall next to my bed. At least there is one thought that I have to hold on to because it is life saving, and it is real.

My Treasure Box

There are no brand name jewelries, no designer watches, no stocks certificates, not even good gold green money in my treasure box. Here's what I have, and each and every one of them meant a lot to me. In case of a fire, I will be running for my life with it:

1. All the un-detatched tickets and backstage passes of all the shows my band LOCUS has ever played in. I might have missed a few, but overall, the memoriable ones I've got them all covered.

2. My primary school's school pin. I lost the original one, which i've wore for the 5 years of going to that school. Luckily i bought a new one, the last one with the silver lining on the outskirt.

3. A selection of different sizes and colors of rose/floral pins in frabic or plastic. I always dream to be a gardener and I love all sorts of nature shaped accessories.

4. My dvds/photos from my earlier years. Esp. the one with my mentor in it. . . . I found myself replaying that particular speech he has given so many times before. . .I'm just blessed to have met him during the unexpected short time period, he is my second father.

5. Coins/stamps collectables left by my beloved dad. One particular set that I recently discovered to be extorinary: a 4 piece year of the "dog" metal coin. . . as if my dad already knew LOCUS is 4 people. . .I miss him so much. . .

6. Three rolax watches bought on 3 very special dates by my dad: my parent's wedding day, the day of my birth and my coming of age on my 18th bday.

7. Last but not least, my passports and birth certificates and legal documents. Afterall, identity is the most important treaure you've got to have to survive. Think Dicaprio in "Departed".

. . .and on a cold raining day like today, I found myself wearing one other family heridom of ours that I will be running with my life with in case of a fire: my dad's grey color made in Italy cashmere cardaigan. And it's priceless.

GIRLTIME ENCHANTED GALA @ The Bay Coquitlam

"DON'T under-estimate THE BAY." And so they bought in their own. Not one, not two, but ALL locations are having a Gala on DIFFERENT dates. So unless you are not getting yourself ready for the mother of all holiday seasons, these THE BAY GALAs are a great event to attend because not only you will receive VIP treatment, there is rarely a counter that doesn't do the gift with purchase offer.

( MAC, Lancome, Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Arden, Clarins, Adrien Arpel, Wellness, Dior, Channel, Shishedo, Clinques, Biotherm, H2O, . . .they are all doing the GWP. I'm sure I missed out a couple by accident lol)

Besides this one, there are other department stores that will also have their pre-Christmas galas/parties/VIP pre-show/blah blah blah. So hold your wallets, ask the sales people what will be happening, and buy it during these special events. It is also a great way to get your friend together on a fun night out by dressing up a bit and give each other a second opinion on the products that you will be purchasing. Two brains are better than one, not to mention the more the merrier.

intersection

yay the first post from yours truly - the blog moderator and web tech!

dinner last night was wonderful, kettle of fish in yaletown with my closest friends and significant other. kaila and eric took jace and i out for our birthday! The first of course was my trip to Montreal and that upgraded full suite at Embrassy Hotel.

But getting to the concert wasn't excatly what I have expected. Why? Because Queen B Madonna is also in town rocking Vancouver literally.

And when I said literally, I MEANT literally. Here was how I got to the recital from Richmond:

1. Tried Granville Bridge, very jammed, skit onto Bridgeport to try Oak Bridge.

2. Oak Bridge is literally NOT MOVING, gave up, try Knight Bridge.

3. Two Ambulances flew pass our very long line up, leaving me heart beating very fast by now, 1 hr countdown to missing the recital.

4. Finally got on and off the bridge, stuck on Knight Street, saw about like 5 car accidents, en route to Victoria Street, hit Kingsway full speed, slide down Main, jammed my way through Madonna fans' cars, very much IN PANIC.

5. MY savior JASON offered to drive my car to his place so that totally saved not only my $86 ticket to see Lang Lang and also I found my blood pressure finally starting to decrease since the moment I left Aberdeen Centre.

After all these, not only did I made it, I still got like 2o mins to spare to hit the lineup for the ladiesroom just to see how red my face was with all this rush. But next time I want to go to a concert in downtown, I will make sure it's not on the same night with Madonna. Never never never again.

<category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='J.K. "How To Walk In High Heels" by Camila Morton

why: VOGUE called it the "MUST-HAVE GUIDE TO EVERYTHING IN A GIRL'S LIFE." This is the book that will NOT ONLY teach you how to walk in your high heels properly, look glam, be smart, play chess, write your very own business proposals, how to drive a car, cook a romantic dinner for two, blah blah blah, it's also one of the most haliarious book I've ever read that's funny, quick wit, and just as good as comfort food for the mind.

2. "A Year in High Heels" by Camila Morton

why: Well, after reading her first book, you will want more. Trust me. It's addictive.

3. "PLATO: A Very Short Introduction" by Julia Annas

why: It's published by OXFORD University Press, just about 100 pages or so, can easily fit into a lady's purse, and it is easy enough to understand whatever, whenever. When you can't find a free newspaper copy sitting around the cafe, this will be your savior, not to mention driving away unwanted strangers. ( no more acting being busy, you ARE busy in an Oxford's book.)

4. "Three Fates" by Nora Roberts

why: NORA ROBERTS is the reigning Queen of popular fiction literature in North America. She is perhaps the only living female novelist with enough books to fill an IKEA standard 6" tall 4 " wide bookcase and might still need a night table to put the fave ones by the bed in case insomnia hits home at 3am. This book "Three Fates" is about a family who inherited one of the three silver miniature statue of the "FATES", and how a bitchy antique collector agent is using all her dirty ways to try to collect the entire set. I have a soft spot for myths and this one has been on my night table stool since day 1.

5. "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" by Newt Scamander ( actually it's by J.K. One, two, three, four, five. . . like an endless song haunting me in my every waking moment. Unless I die, I will never escape from this deep echo of savage symphony.

Of course, life isn't totally out of control. Within all these madness I can still find myself weaving seamlessly into the literal normal life, doing normal things.

. . . although playing airplane chess at Blenz on a "thank god it's friday" friday night isn't . . exactly normal. . . but it calms me down, and I'm playing against the equally "I don't give a damn what you think I'm still going to do my own thing" Gigi. So two minus equals a plus, and all of the sudden, life felt good.

And life continues with a 2pm meeting on a perfectly warm and sunny autumn Saturday 40 mins drive away from the warmth of my own den. But this is exactly what I need: reality. To be on the ground, to be in focus, to stop letting my imaginations run without a conductor to stop me, to stay within the line, and burn all my energy on what needs me, not what destroys me.

If I'm not burning for what I care, I'll just be another supernova blast into forgotteness and forever lost.

Alot can happen during a 6 hour flight

I can't believe it, but here are the list of things that totally flipped upside down while I was watching Sex and The City (. . .again) on my return flight to Vancouver from Montreal:

1. Canadian Dollar to US Dollar flipped: $1 Canadian Dollar = 70 Cents US. I am totally cancelling that trip to Seattle.

2. A certain someone that I absolutely thought was totally out of my life was back in my life and I don't even know how it happened. I'm very much still in shock.

3. Kelvin sent a total of 4 new songs that are now in the folder for our third album. And this is pretty much the ONLY good thing that happened out of all these very confusing happenings.

4. Air Canada lost our trade show suitcase that had ALL our display in it.

5. My co worker's suitcase was thrown, dropped, and thrown again, damaging her lock and she could not open her case which contains some of the stuff that I've bought during the trip. How brutal.

6. I wrote another song after watching Carrie Bradshaw finally gets to marry Mr. Big. I think this comes more of a shock to Jason instead of myself because I have always got a hinch that I would have totally nothing else to do eventually and would just let inspirations run wild when everyone including Nicky had fell deep asleep.

7. . . . . .and something about finding out a huge federal dept that was kept unmentioned during the election. It's so depressing that I just don't even want to read the fine prints.

8. I'm now obliaged to attend the "Fairy Queen" tea party because my godfather have already booked me. Didn't he not heard me complain how I can't eat lately??

9. 86 unread hotmail emails. Allure, Vouge, Mexx, Body Shop, Guess, HR, Clarins, even Safeway are having promotional campaigns in November. Looks like that weak Canadian Dollar is worse than I thought.

10. 43 unread junk emails. Even Viragra is on a campaign. Sorry dear but I just deleted all your emails. Try the opposite sex you will have better luck.

Last Night in Montreal with the Gargoyles~~

It's been my pleasure. Thank you Montreal^^. . . Except maybe the weather wasn't exactly to my taste.

Actually, my plane doesn't leave for another 18 hours, but I'm already missing my Embassy suite, my gigantic fridge ( that we have so far been using it to store our beer), my hot tub, my 2 ( yes, 2) plasma HD TV, and my free wireless internet. ( I use a cable at home, laugh all you want but it's faster.)

But really, it's been a wonderful trip being able to breathe the aire of this beautifully romantic city full of artsy archicultures with its intruding histories, lovely local people that are just the sweetest on Earth, elecentric expressocafes, alluring night bars, newly turned color maples, the upbeat metro subways. . .if this isn't love that I'm feeling, then I don't know what is.

Well, love did came like, for about two hours yesterday when I saw this prince charmingly hot barista representing JJ Beans BC in the barista completition. So what happened? Well, my booth was close enough to the stage that I was able to go to his practicing machine station, stood there, cast my shadow onto his 2% milk bottle, and he turned around and made me a double shot expresso WITH his own self-roasted coffee beans. He called his beans "Spendie" after his name "Spencer". I called it "A'mour" and I swear I can wear it as perfume. Too bad that he doesn't go on the floor at any of the JJ Beans cafe anymore, he just roast beans for them. Too bad indeed. . .

After the trade show was over, Nicky and I crashed the Centre Eaton, Promenades Cathedrale, Complexe Les Ailes, and the Rue St. Catherines. How tired were we? Words doesn't even describe it. I was so tired, I ordered a pepsi when we finally sat down for dinner. (....I need to feel forever young again.)

So here are my plans for the remaining 18 hours:

1. Finish all our beers in the gigantic fridge AND the plate of super salty chicken wings that's been sitting on our gigantic kitchen counter for the past 2 hours.

2. Watch more TV on the HD plasma, especially the one in the bedroom that's hanging from the ceiling.

3. Wake up at 6am, take an hour long bath in the hot tub.

4. Eat a very full complmentary breakfast and stuff myself up as much as possible so I can skip lunch and spend my every waking moments crashing all the shopes all over again and in between must visit St. Paul St at Old Montreal for a decent cup of double shot expresso.

4. Catch my plane home.

Wow. . . .busy busy busy. Love love love. lol~~

Good Morning, Ogilvy

Day 2 in Montreal

It's great to be insomnia when going on trips because getting to party until dawn and to wake up in time to see the sunset in the unfamilar city was just what I need for inspiration. Especially here in Montreal with all the beautiful Victorian era style building and the sleepless Gargoyles. Sorry Jace, I tried, you just have to bear with me with all the crazy new stuff. . . xoxo~~

Breakfast was awesome. For the first time ever, I actually FINISHED all of it:

Two eggs sunny side up

a few bacons

two sauage links

two pieces of cantalopes

some cold ham

coffee, coffee, coffee

Bravo bravo. And it lasted until dinner. Food, however, is the least important part for today. Today, we explore. And so we did, traveling in NYC style: cabbing.

So the best of the first four hours of our morning was spent in luxe "window" shopping at Holt Renfrew ( 1300 Rue Shedbrooke) and "actual literally shopping" at Ogilvy. ( 2 blocks from HR on Montagne St). Don't get me wrong though, Ogilvy isn't any less expensive than HR if not cheaper. Lady Nicky liked Olivy better than HR. Ogilvy's got Louis Vuitton, HR didn't. ( . . . .did I hear eye glasses falling onto the ground and shattering into pieces. . .?? . . .I thought so. . .) Not only did she liked it, she loved it, and she loved it so much, she dropped $800 there during our one hr stay.

Note to Dohon: Don't worry she dropped it on a Louis Luitton. Deep breath, mate, deep breath.

As for me. . . . Geurlain perfume. . . . .50ml. . .don't ask. . .lust at first sight is the hardest to withold. Condemn me ONLY when you have never been lured by lust.

I'll just skip the entire "getting 30 kg of stuff into the trade show venue from our hotel and setting it up and arranging our tables and out of breath at the end of that" coz as you can see, it's so over in one run-on sentence. Back to sightseeing. Another cab, another neonlight, another mall, another coffee (. . .my 4th one actually), and we found ourselves having our fine dining at:

Macdonald's.

We ordered a entree of "Poulet de South Ouest" and a tapa dish of " Poulet de le Nuggets". And we didn't finish it. We are not trying to turn ourselves into Ashley and MK Olsen. But eating that super gigantic breakfast ( in my CURRENT point of view, and for those who know me, you already know that I've done SO MUCH BETTER!!! I REALLY TRIED!!!) really filled us up like some energetic batteries that never dies. Btw, I've only seen so far ONE Macdonald's on Rue Sainte Catherine. Mapquest your Macdonald's if you can't live without them.

After we got back to the Embassy, I finally get to try the massaging hot tub that takes 30 mins to fill up. To my surprise, it cleared away my lingering headache faster than Advil liquid gel. I totally will take more bath as much as I can during the rest of my stay. Don't expect pictures of it, I don't do 18A and over.

Lots of love, Kaila~

Good Evening, Beautiful Montreal~

A 10:40am flight isn't exactly early, but it is quite the wake up call this morning when all three of my alarm clocks played symphony at 0600 pacific time. With my recent restlessness, it wasn't so hard to leave the comfort of my den, but I still slipped into the shower to wake up properly. Actually, it was a second shower in about 4 hours. Saturday night isn't really a "go to sleep early" night for the norms of the norms and certainly not for me when LOCUS is on a "crunchier than crunch" recording schedule.

Note to Kel: For the first time in like a month I did fell asleep for the most peaceful 20 mins on your sofa. ( . . or Bryce's sofa. . ? Daniel's? . . . .whoever it is, thank you~~)

Finally arrived at YVR, grabbed my Lady Nicky ( my co-worker and roommate for 4 days in the Grand Deluxe Embassy Hotel by Hiltons), got my Pumpkin Spice Latte Double Foam Double Whip (. . .yes. . .WHIP, DOUBLE), got my VOUGE Novemeber issue, got totally ready and felt actually happy, and the unthinkable happened.

I was told to take off my boots while going through security.

WOW.

Note to all fashionistas: Trust me when I say match your socks whenever, whatever.

After that very shocking drama ( in my point of view), we boarded AC 194 ON TIME, and sat very comfortably in front of each of our very own very individual touch sensor flat TV screen, and I found myself enjoying Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of Crystal Skulls, followed by The Sex and the City MOVIE. Repeat: individual touch sensor flat TV screen and watching The Sex and the City. Almost forgot I wasn't going to the NYC.

And when I say how much I appreciate instant chicken noodle soup, I'm being at my most honest ever. It was pretty much the only HOT "entree" on board. The conversation my band was having about how if Macdonald's certain burger would stand up to the completition against the fancy downtown burger parlers? I think at least Macdonald wins against the half hot half cold so called COLD deli meat sandwiches they served on board. I pity the woman that ordered it, paid for it, and ate the bread only. . . .

Once we got out of the very chaotic Trudeau airport we can't help it but felt. . . silent. On a Sunday evening around 7pm there was literally NO ONE on our block of areas near our Embassy.. . . How lonely the gargoyles must be on top of all the Victorian era style beautiful bulidings. . . . I can almost hear them sigh. . . . .( . . . .no, it was me. . . .when we got lost around our block. . . )

Eventually, it was a late dinner @ Tatami Sushi, dining on top of a bowl of fish tanks listening to soft lounge jazz/house music, a walk around the St. Jean Pierre, a quick pick me ups at a local cafe, and a very hot shower back at the Embassy. Everything seems so artsy and beatiful in Montreal, I better catch up on some culture with VOUGE tonight before I go to sleep. Lucky I bought the BC version. I can't read French.

welcome to the ann.i.e group blog

this is the anniegroup administrator. welcome to the official ann.i.e group blog.

KChu (administrator/moderator)

Fashion-Tastic Band Madness @ the Cellar

Fashion and music have always been an inspiration for each other, and this genuine relationship was at its best display at the Fashion-tastic Band madness at the Cellar club on April 27th, hosted by Di Da Di Karaoke and Matrix production. The show was all about Vancouver local talents, featuring fashion by Coquette Couture 1827 by Vancouver local designer Ms. Monica Wong. Monica's collectionw as featured at this year's Vancouver Fashion Week in mid April. With her funky mixed formal sexy style, she is taking the Vancouver local fashion industry by storm. Monica featured three different lines in the show. From cocktail to clubbing sexy to casual/beach wear, every piece turned up the heat in the underground club.

The fashion show was cleverly separated by performances by five local Vancouver bands. Aura kicked off the show, covering songs from Audioslave and Muse. Vocalist Kelvin hit all the right notes and lit up the night with his amazing singing. Next up was Atlantiz, bringing both cover songs and originals with their own pop rock sound. It was their second show since they formed their band in late 2006. The multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriters of Locus changed the atmosphere to a romantic and softer tone with their soft pop originals. The twins of Locus, Jason and Kelvin cast a spell with their melodic piano solos. The show followed quickly with the Embryos. This six-piece band is more than meets the eye, with vocalist Roy on keys as well as guitars.
